You are no longer strangers and aliens
You are no longer strangers and aliens, but you are citizens with the saints and also members of the household of God.
You are no longer strangers and aliens, but you are citizens with the saints and also members of the household of God...Ephesians 2:19
There's no shortage of grocery stores near my home. One offers flu shots and rewards cards. Another feature is a pianist at the checkout lines. My preference is the one with absolutely no amenities. Its aisles are stocked with products I don't recognize and labels I can't read. Most shoppers there speak languages I don't understand and buy foods I've never tasted. It dawns one me that I seem as foreign to some of the customers as they seem to me. What draws me there is more than curiosity. I want to learn about our brothers and sisters from around the world because we belong to the household of God.
As I shop, I realize there is much more than meets the eye. Beyond labels and languages, we are all the same. This gift of diversity is ours to discover, even in a grocery store. Each time we recognize the gift, we widen the circle of God's universal love.-- Gail Golea
