A journey to Lourdes: In the lap of Our Virgin


Lourdes is a small town which became famous in the year 1858 because of a peasant girl named Bernadette Soubirous. After her canonization, she was popularly known as Our Lady of Lourdes and is now the world’s most important sites of pilgrimage and religious tourism. Lourdes gets vibrant two months before and after Mid-August when the feast is celebrated. More than six million people are hosted in this town every year, with the largest number of hotels in the world after Paris. It is also the third most important site of international Catholic pilgrimage after Rome and the Holy Land.
