Fr. Vineeth George bags the Rashtriya Gaurav Puraskar

Fr. Vineeth George CMF became the youngest to receive the Rashtriya Gaurav Puraskar of 2018. It has been awarded to Fr. Vineeth for his “outstanding leadership in the field of higher education, exceptional performance of high order and service to the society”.

Former Governor of Chattisgarh, Tripura and Madhya Pradesh, Lt Gen K.M. Seth PVSM, gave away the award at the India International Centre, New Delhi.

Eminent educationists, economists, social activists, journalists, Industrialists,engineers, politicians and retired defence officials were part of the award jury.

Mother Teresa, Ustad Amjad Ali Khan, G.V.G. Krishnamuthy, Justice P.N. Bhagwati, Dr Naresh Trehan, Gen K.V. Krishna Rao and Air Chief Marshal N.C. Suri are among the notable personalities to receive the award so far.

Fr. Vineeth, who belongs to the Claretian congregation in Bangalore, had earlier won the 'Dr Subbirami Reddi Gold Medal' for being the university topper and has brought home laurels in professional as well as academic fields.
