Bailancho Ekvott demands probe into online sex racket functioning in Church name

A women's collective in Goa, “Bailancho Ekvott”, has brought to the notice of authorities, the functioning of an online sex racket in the name of the historic Bom Jesus Basilica in Goa.

Auda Viegas, who runs the women's collective, says that a complaint has been registered with the Margao town police station, regarding the same, and a detailed investigation into the same has been asked for.

“This is clearly a case of tarnishing the image of Goa and Goan women,” she says.

She continues that “by offering Goan women for prostitution through this website, the reputation of Goan women has been tarnished. The website includes profiles of working women, college-going girls and housewives, too.”

She even expressed her disgust on dragging a centuries-old church into such nasty affairs.
