A "Jericho Prayer" for the nation

As Joshua and the army of Israelites broke down the walls of Jericho, conquering the land of Canaan, the National Service Team of the Catholic Charismatic Renewal services of India, are planning to oragnize a “Jericho Prayer” to break down the walls of “religious violence” in our nation, with an effort to restore peace.

174 dioceses within the seven regional groups in India are partaking in the prayer, which will commence in the Archdiocese of Bombay on August 15, 2018, the best suited day to begin a peace prayer the day of National Independence in India, and conclude on August 29, 2018.

The Cathedral of the Holy Name in Mumbai will witness a special event to commemorate the same, on August 15, from 11:00 a.m. to 4:30 p.m, which would include praise and worship, intercessions, rosary, Divine Mercy prayer, an input and Holy Mass.

The "Jericho Prayer" is as follows:

“Heavenly Father, just as you inspired Joshua to lead the Israelites in prayer, we raise our hearts and pray for India, as we surrender our motherland, its people and all those in authority, into your precious hands. May the true spirit of solidarity, respect and justice fill our land as you protect our country from all forms of evil that affects the peace and prosperity of every citizen.

Let the warmth of your light and love envelope every region of our glorious nation.

As your ambassadors of unity, peace and mercy, may our words and actions always reflect your infinite goodness. Shower your abundant blessings on our entire nation and the whole Church and rekindle your spirit in us who seek to do your will.”

St. Peter’s Church in Bandra will be hosting the closing ceremony of the “Jericho Prayer” on August 29, 2018, from 10:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m.

In addition, an Intercessor's Meeting will be held at Divine Retreat Centre, in Muringoor, Kerala, during November 18-21, 2018, which will witness the participation of 4000 intercessors. The event will see the installation of a crucifix around the intercessory map of India, blessed by all of the bishops at the time of “Jericho Prayer”, at different locations.
